The batman costume story

The whole batman epic starts in the detective comics from the late 1930s and called “The Batman” brought to life by by artist Bob Kane and Bill Finger and our superhero has never looked back since. The creation was a different kind of superhero possessing no powers, all he has is brains and powers of crime deduction. With those and his great wealth and knowledge of science batman pits his power against the forces of evil in Gotham.


The caped knight appears in his costume with Robin the boy wonder at his side, ready to fight the villains Which include the Joker, the Riddler, the Penguin and cat woman.

The 1960s TV program with Adam West as Bruce Wayne very quickly caught the imagination of the 60s scene and that continues even to this day, The moral stance Bruce Wayne took in the 60s programs went some way in showing children right and wrong. Some people today feel this is missing from the current children’s superhero shows. Each week there would be 2 batman shows on tv with each episode climaxing in an exciting cliff hanger. We were told to tune in same time, to the same channel and get the final conclusion of the story.

Bruce Wayne re invents himself with a new generation of blockbuster films such as the Dark Knight …and finds new fans from all over the world! There is a culture devoted to gathering Batman costumes, toys and games. There is also a thriving batman community who dress up in their favourite batman costume and go to conventions.

The Batmobile is his feature packed car he uses to fight crime. It has gone through a few changes from the Batmobile of the first film series to the well loved Barris 1966 Batmobile to the ’89 Keaton Batmobile and lastly to its newest reinvention, the tumbler.

In the 2nd tv series the duo had Batgirl to help them in their adventures. The underground layer where Bruce Wayne runs his crime fighting from is referred to as the Batcave and offers a huge amount of bat-equipment.Naturally as this is fiction, the source of power for the bat-cave is the nuclear bat reactor

Batman has been around in TV, movies, games, comic books for along time. Little boys have had great fun wearing versions of the Batman costumes through the years. We offer some ideas so your son can have fun long after Halloween.

Throw a super hero party

If there’s a birthday coming up, turn it into a costume party. Ask guests to arrive in their own costumes if they want, and have some extra super hero props, such as Batman costumes, ready for guests that don’t come dressed up as anything, so they won’t feel left out. Plan your games for the kids that focus on super heroes. It will be just as much fun to set up containers of super hero toys and simply let the kids play.

Maybe your kid wants to wear his Batman costume to the grocery store, doctor’s office or park. It doesn’t really matter and it might just give everyone who sees him, a big smile. Take pictures of him with his costume on wherever he goes. You’ll have memories of a time in his life when it was ok to dress up and pretend to be a superhero. Batman costumes make make great pyjamas. Just put the costume in the washing machine with the rest of the laundry and don’t worry about it.

Use Batman costumes to bargain with

Try telling your boy wearing a Batman costume is a moral responsibility and he has to be mindful when wearing it. Now do a deal that he gets to wear it after cleaning his room, or doing his homework. Set up an agreement that those who throw tantrums or act in other bad ways do not get to wear Batman costumes for the whole of that day.

So you can enter his world and use his love of batman to improve his behaviour. This could save you the hours of time of engaging in power struggles.
